It's time.

It's time to start blogging again.

I used to put up a blog post 3-4 times a week. Most were not in depth. Just sharing thoughts as they occurred to me. I looked at it as a sort of journal of my life.
Well life changes and I got out of that habit due to the advent of Facebook.

But it is time to start again.

Too many things going on in the world to stay silent about.

Too many things going on in my life that need to be worked out.

I write from the perspective of a follower of Christ. But I've found my positions have changed over the years. It used to seem like my faith and my patriotism were joined at the hip. But I've had my country surgically removed and am now able I hope to be a little more dispassionate while maintaining my passion.

In other words I think I can contribute now.

I'm not the flag waver I used to be. I love the Flag. But my understanding of the flag is different than it used to be.
I love America. But I'm not as myopic as I used to be. America is in serious trouble. And I, who used to be one of the enablers refuse to be anymore.
So in the interest of truth and recognising God is in on every conversation...

...here goes.

An interpretation of M.C. Escher

For everyone directed here from my Facebook page.

Just a short note to say that I don't have any art samples here yet here yet. I needed a web address to set up my Facebook page and I had this blog site that had sit dormant for a couple of years.
I will post a facebook update when this is up.
Thanks for coming!

Liberty

"Liberty and it's full expression is never an issue until someone tries to take it away. Given the nature of man and specifically the governments of men, this means that liberty is always an issue."
Don't know who said that but I like it.

Frodo lives. (in the Supreme Court)

This assessment of Justice Clarence Thomas at first sounds like more of the cartooning of the conservative justice that has gone on since he was confirmed some twenty years ago. But further reading reveals the caricature to be pretty accurate.

Sustaining marriage

Wanna stay married? May sound like a dumb question when everything is going well, but when it's not what do you hang onto?
How about listening to people who have done it successfully for three or four decades?
